Della Reece Colquitt

Della Reece Colquitt, age 91, of Suwanee, GA passed away Monday, January 8, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-three years, Harold C. Colquitt. Mrs. Colquitt is survived by her children, Cheryl C. and Donnie Thigpen, Flowery Branch, GA and Danny and Melissa Colquitt, Buford, GA; grandchildren, James O. Thigpen and wife Meredith, William K. Thigpen and wife Lori, Andrew H. Thigpen and wife Marcy, Christopher D. Colquitt and wife Reid, Jeffrey C. Colquitt, and Gregory M. Colquitt and wife Lauren; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mrs. Colquitt was born on December 14, 1926 in Elijay, GA. She was a 1944 graduate of Gilmer County High School, and she was a homemaker. Mrs. Colquitt was a charter member of Shadowbrook Baptist Church in Suwanee, GA and was a member of the Joy Sunday School Class. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Shadowbrook Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Patchin and Rev. Bobby Linkous officiating. Mrs. Colquitt will lie in state at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Duluth, GA. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 10 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Flowers are accepted or a memorial may be made to Shadowbrook Baptist Church in memory of Della R. Colquitt.
