Cecil Adair Blackstock

Obituary Date: Sunday, January 7, 2018
Cecil Adair Blackstock age 94, of Talmo, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018, at New Horizons Lanier Park after an extended
illness.

Cecil was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Carmel McEver Blackstock, parents, Lloyd & Flora Bell Blackstock, brothers, Don
Blackstock and Byron Blackstock. Survivors include nieces and cousins.

Cecil was born October 8, 1923 in Talmo, Georgia where he continued to live throughout his life.  For many years, he was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as mail carrier. He enjoyed greeting people along his route and would often give candy to the children. Cecil also worked with the Soil Conservation Service as Conservation Aide.  Cecil was a cattle and poultry farmer.  Cecil loved to strike a deal.  He spent much of his time bargaining with costumers over items he sold.

Cecil was a member of Talmo Baptist Church where he and Carmel enjoyed singing in the choir. Cecil shared memories of he and Carmel as they worked together making tea cakes to share with their community.

Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 p.m. Thursday Januaray 11, 2018 at Ward’s Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Mark Spence will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at Talmo Baptist
Church.
