Nancy Beck, 84, of McDonough, formerly of Dawsonville, passed away Saturday January 6, 2018 at Autumn Leaves of Stockbridge following a period of declining health.
Born September 14, 1933 in Alton, Illinois to the late Roscoe Carl and Alberta Frances Poole, Nancy previously resided in Decatur before moving to Dawsonville in 1994 and then to Stockbridge after the death of her husband. She attended Purdue University where she earned a BS in pharmacy and met her late husband, Jerome M. “Jerry” Beck, to whom she was married for 56 years. Having grown up on a horse farm, Nancy possessed a special love for animals. A very kind hearted and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Nancy was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was also preceded in death by a daughter in law, Cathy Beck and sister, June Marie Poole.
Surviving are her children, Richard Beck, Morrow, GA; Michael and Penny Beck, McDonough, GA, Roxanne and Kelly Thomley, Newnan, GA; grandchildren, Candice Beck, Dustin Beck, Sarah Beck, Garrett Beck, Savannah Thomley, Matthew Thomley; and a great-grandson, Ean Marria.
Funeral services will be held Thursday January 11, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Herman Miller will officiate. Interment will follow in the Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until the service hour on Thursday.
