Larry Mark Shirley

Mr. Larry Mark Shirley, age 51 of Branden Berry Drive in Toccoa passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Stephens County Hospital.

A son of Mrs. Ruby Pless Norris and the late Larry “Jack” Shirley, he was born July 13, 1966 in Toccoa where he has lived all of his life. He was employed with Fieldale Farms for twenty years, was of the Holiness faith, member of Safe Harbor Church of God, he preached on several occasions at various churches, and was married to his wife Donna for twenty-seven years. Mr. Shirley loved his family and was a family oriented man. He also liked to go on trips to the mountains. The mountains were very special to him. He loved the Georgia Bulldogs. Mr. Shirley was preceded in death by his father, Jack Shirley.

He is survived by his wife, Donna Rider Shirley of the home, his mother Ruby Pless Norris of Toccoa, son and daughter-in-law, Casey and Taylor Shirley of Toccoa, a daughter, Brittany Shirley and her fiancé, Chris Davis both of Toccoa, brothers Shannon Shirley and Joseph Howard both of Toccoa, sisters, Becky Shirley and Loretta Wright both of Toccoa, and Teresa Norris of Royston, Georgia, step mother, Ann Shirley of Toccoa, and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM. Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at Safe Harbor Church of God with The Reverend Ralph Smith and The Reverend Rusty Martin officiating.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers and will please arrive at the funeral by 1:30 pm. on Wednesday; Richard Burton, Joe Tucker, Russell Tudor, Tim Dorsey, Blake Taylor, and Tommy Franklin.

The family will be at the home of Mrs. Ruby Norris and Mrs. Becky Shirley, 521 Crawford Circle, Toccoa, and will receive friends at The Acree-Davis Funeral Home from 6 until 8 pm. Tuesday evening and from 12 Noon until the service hour on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in memory of Mr. Mark Shirley, c/o Acree-Davis Funeral Home, 90 South Pond Street, Toccoa, Ga. 30577.

Interment will be in Stephens Memorial Gardens with The Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements for Mr. Larry Mark Shirley.
