Myrtle Shirley Whitt

Ms. Myrtle Shirley Whitt, age 75, of Flowery Branch passed away peacefully Monday, January 1, 2018 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center – Braselton, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 5, 2018 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment following at Memorial Park South Cemetery.  Rev. Mike Fowler will officiate.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, January 4, 2018 and 10:00a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 5, 2018 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Ms. Whitt was born September 23, 1942 to the late James Buren & Nora Belle Shirley in Alpharetta.  She was a faithful follower of Jesus as a member of Word of Faith Church in Buford.

Ms. Whitt is survived by her children, Denise & Skip Martin of Flowery Branch; Jeff & Shelly Whitt of Cumming, Donna & Richard Davis of Flowery Branch, and Kim & Curtis Gunderson of Cumming; 14 grandchildren; sister, Janie & Gerald McGinnis of Alpharetta; her love, Larry Whitt of Cumming; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  She was preceded in death by her oldest son, Michael Charles of Cumming; parents, Buren & Nora Shirley of Alpharetta; brothers, Ivan Shirley, Edgar Shirley and Edwin Shirley; and sisters, Betty Armstrong, Katie Wright, Mary Pettyjohn and Martha Batchelor.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to a Charity of choice in Ms. Whitt’s name.
