Terry L. Sams

Terry L Sams, 71, of Dawsonville, Ga., died December 26th, 2017.

Mr. Sams was born November 22, 1946, in Ashville, NC to Howard and Louise Sams.

He attended North Buncombe High School in Weaverville, NC. Class of 65. He continued his education at North Carolina State where he graduated with an engineering degree in 1969.

Terry married his college sweetheart, Sylvia Anne Davis.  Terry’s career started with Southern Bell as an IT person. After retiring from AT&T, he started his own communications company, Data Tech Communications, and worked with Billy Graham Association, North American Mission Board, and Christian Sportsman’s Fellowship to name a few.

He is survived by his two brothers, Ronnie Sams and Jerry Sams, two sister-in-laws, plus nieces and nephews. Terry’s wife, Sylvia, proceeded him in death on January 25, 2017.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday January 7th, 2017 at 2pm in the Chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home.  Interment will follow on Wednesday January 10, 2017 at 2pm graveside at Montlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Raleigh, NC.  Family will receive friends at the funeral home on January 7, 2017 from 1pm until 2pm.
