Joyce Pace

Mrs. Joyce Pace, age 84, of Smyrna passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Gateway Gardens, surrounded by her family.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 29, 2017 in the Chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home with interment at 4:00 p.m. at Veal Community Cemetery in Roopville, Georgia.  Rev. Jason Mincey will officiate.  The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Mrs. Pace was born January 3, 1933 to the late Johnny C. & Nettie E. Simmons in Atlanta.  She was a member of King Spring Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, studying her Bible, crocheting, and most of all spending time with her family.

Mrs. Pace is survived by her daughter & son-in–law, Lynn & Henry Birdsong of Hoschton; daughter, Brenda Phillips of McDonough; grandchildren, Kyle & Sarah Phillips, Cameron Phillips and Anna & Brian McCoy; great-grandchildren, McKinley Phillips and Savannah Phillips; sister, Mary Cobb of Loxley, Alabama; and several nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Horace Johnson Pace, her parents; son-in-law, Robert “Robbie” A. Phillips; sister, Ruth Simmons; and brother, David Simmons, Sr.
