Dorothy "Dot" Wade

Dorothy "Dot" Wade, age 85, of Lula, GA passed away Friday, December 22, 2017.

She was a lifelong resident of Lula, GA and the first charter member listed on the membership roll at Liberty Baptist Church in Lula. She worked as a hotel manager for various hotels in Helen, GA, and loved gospel music. Dot was a very generous person, and a wonderful mother, grandmother, and sister.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Nell Poole Abernathy; husband, J.W. Wade; and sister, JoAnn Sullens.

Dot is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Malinda and Tony Driskell Sr., Gainesville, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Rev. James B. Hatcher, Lula, GA; Elaine and Rev. Kenneth Barrett, Gillsville, GA; and Peggy and Royce Head, Lula, GA. 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and a number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 PM Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Hillside Chapel Funeral Home in Gainesville, GA.

Rev. James B. Hatcher will officiate.

Interment will follow in the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Lula, GA.

The family will receive friends at Hillside Chapel Funeral Home in Gainesville, GA from 12 Noon until 2 PM on Tuesday, December 26, 2017.
