Quinton Dwight Wilson, age 86, of Jefferson, formerly of the Batesville Community in Clarkesville, Georgia, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2017.
Mr. Wilson was born on September 29, 1931, in Batesville, Georgia, to the late Lester and Katie Allen Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela; son Joey; brother, Calvin; and sister, Arispah (Barrett).
Mr. Wilson was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War conflict. He retired from Scovill Manufacturing Company after 33 years of faithful employment and enjoyed his years of retirement fulfilling his dream of visiting all 50 states. He enjoyed traveling, wood working, gardening and spending time with his family and friends, but most of all his 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren who knew him lovingly as “Paw-Paw”.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Frances Cowart Wilson; son and daughter-in-law, Robin and Martha Wilson of Jefferson, GA; grandchildren: Brock Wilson, Drew Wilson, Parker Wilson, Carley Wilson, Meridee Wilson, Jarad Wilson, and Nathan Wilson; great-grandchildren: Makenzie, Wyatt, Dulaney, Ridley, Collins, Burch, Boone, Asher, Avric, Adley, and Colin; sisters, Obeta Davis and Orpha Lou West; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, Georgia, with Rev. Clifford Allen officiating. Interment will follow in Old Nacoochee Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at the funeral home.
