Mrs. Betty Jo Shirley, age 79, of Commerce, GA died Saturday, December 16, 2017 at her residence. Mrs. Shirley was born in Homer to the late Boyd and Lucille Pendergrass Parr. She was retired owner of Pancake House Restaurant and Skate A-Rama. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Shirley; brother, Boyd Parr, Jr. and sister, Gladys Kinley.
Mrs. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Betty Lane Owensby and son, Ricky Jo Wood both of Nicholson; sister, Elaine Beauchamp of Commerce; step-children, Tammy Sexton of Ocalla, FL, Dean Shirley of Commerce, Greg Shirley and Jimmy Shirley both of Cornelia; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 3 PM, Monday, December 18 at the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Interment will follow in Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 5 to 8 PM.
