Ruby Harben, 83, of Dawsonville passed away Friday December 15, 2017 at her residence following a period of declining health.
Born January 10, 1934 to the late Grover and Lizzie Burt, Ruby was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. A member of Juno Baptist Church, she was a 1953 graduate of Dawson County High School and was formerly employed in the Dawson County School System. Ruby enjoyed gardening, cooking, visiting yard sales and flea markets, and especially spending time with her family and friends. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Clifton C. Harben and brothers, Herbert Burt, G.C. Burt.
Surviving are her sons and daughter in law, Terry Harben, Dawsonville, Jeffrey and Janice Harben, Dawsonville; grandchildren, Adam Harben, Alana and Josh Hill, Amber and Steven Marsh, Marla Lee; great grandchildren, Ava Harben, Baylor Hill; brother and sister in law, Willie and Vershal Burt, Dawsonville; and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Monday December 18, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Juno Baptist Church. Rev. Brody Hughes, Rev. Dennis Bottoms and Rev. Leonard W. Ridings will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday December 17 from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m.
