Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday December 14, 2017 at Oak Grove Baptist Church for Mary Fae Jackson Smith, age 100 of Gainesville. The Rev. Brian Malcolm, Rev. Earl Pirkle and Rev. Clack Stubbs will officiate. Interment will follow in the church
cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Smith
passed away Monday December 11, 2017 at Bell Minor Nursing Home.
Mrs. Smith was born in Cumming, Georgia to the late Madison Lee Jackson and Isabelle Wallace Jackson. She was the oldest member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. During the war she worked for Chicopee Mill. She later owned and operated Kreme King Restaurant for over 20 years and afterwards worked for Holiday Hall. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Allen Smith; son, Ronald Gene Smith; siblings, Claude Jackson, Gartrell Jackson, Hayne Jackson, Harvey Jackson, Denver Jackson, Myrtle Reed, daughter-in-law, Susie L. Smith and grandchild, Ronn Justin Smith.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Pam Smith, Donald and Brenda Smith, Rick Smith, 6 grandchildren and 17 great
grandchildren.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of Bell Minor Nursing Home for their compassion and care to their mother.
