James F. "Jimmy" Collins

James F. “Jimmy” Collins, 55 of Gainesville passed away Wednesday December 6, 2017 at his residence.

A lifetime resident of Gainesville, Jimmy was the owner/operator of Collins Construction.  He was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.

"Jimmy was a true outdoorsman extraordinaire, and anyone who knows anything about hunting considered him to be an authority and expert on matters related to that.  He was the subject as well as the co-contributor to many publications written on the topic."

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Patty Collins of Gainesville, GA; step-daughter, Jaimee of Atlanta, GA; mother and father, Joy and Jim Scharnagel of Gainesville, GA ; mother-in-law, Edna Tanner of Blue Ridge, GA; sister, Jan Kacmarek of Cornelia, GA; nieces, Julia, Katie, and Callie Kacmarek of Boston, MA.  A number of other family members also survive.

He is preceded in death by his father, Jim Collins; grand-parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.E. Collins and Mr. and Mrs. Norman York; uncles, Sonny York, Bill Collins, and E.E. Collins; nephew, Robert Scott; step-son, John Lee Givogre.

A Memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, December 10, 2017 in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home.  Rev. Eddie Tanner will officiate.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday, December 10, 2017 2:00-4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Eagle Ranch, P O Box 7200, Chestnut Mountain, GA. 30502.
