Edward (Ted) Hodge, age 72, of Buford, Ga, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017.
He was preceded in death by his parents Al & Ellie Gorski Ollert; father Edward Hodge.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Jean Hodge of Buford, Ga. Sons and families, Ted & Kelly Hodge, Daughters, Morgan and Madison of Riverview, Fl., Ken & Jen Hodge and their sons, Logan and Cody of Fairfield, Ca..
Ted was born & grew up In New Jersey. He graduated from Ridgefield Park High School, Newark College Of Engineering, earned his Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering from Georgia Tech, He entered the Air Force in July of 1967 and later fulfilled his dream of becoming a pilot and flew C130s out of Pope AFB in Fayetteville, N.C. He left the Air Force in December of 1974. He was a member of the VFW. He then worked for ADT Security in New York and was later transferred to Baltimore, Md. He left ADT and began studies in International Studies, He then came to Atlanta and worked for Rollins Security. He left Rollins and worked for Hayes Chrysler in Lawrenceville and Oakwood from which he retired. He then took care of his mother-in-law, Mary Devane who lived with him and his wife.
Funeral service will be at 12:00 on Friday, December 8 at Flanigan Funeral Home and Crematory in Buford
Presided over by Fr Eric Hill of Prince of Peace Catholic Church with military honors. Family will receive friends at Flanigan Funeral Home on Thursday December 7 from 7:00 p.m.- 9:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Vietnam Vets https://vva.org/donate. His remains will be cremated and interred at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
