Marvin Junius (M.J.) Tinsley

Marvin Junius (M.J.) Tinsley, 95, of Gainesville passed away Monday, December 4, 2017.  M.J. was a quiet man, when he spoke everyone listened.  He was active in his church, Philadelphia Baptist Church, and was retired from General Motors. M.J. enjoyed cooking pies, cookies, steak and gravy, farming and gardening.  He was always taking care of everyone.  M.J. is preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Grace Tinsley.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Benny Biddy; son and daughter-in-law, James and Rhonda Tinsley, all of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Jeremy and Hollie Biddy, Mark and Mandy Biddy, Kelly and Brandon Williams, Sarah Tinsley; and great grandchildren, Kaitlin and Jamie, Brittany, R.J., Ashlyn, Jeb, Teeb, Tinsley, Hunter, Gracie, and Makalah.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 7, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Sanders and Rev. Mark Biddy officiating.  Interment will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery in Roswell.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 1:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
