Barbara York Freeman

Barbara York Freeman, age 79 of Demorest passed away Monday, November 27, 2017. 

Born in Franklin County, North Carolina on September 27, 1938, Mrs. Freeman was the daughter of the late John Calvin and Texie Welch York.  Mrs. Freeman was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and she was retired from Belk Department Store in Cornelia.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Freeman is preceded in death by her husband William Junior Freeman.

Survivors include daughters Tawana Still of Demorest and Monecia Simmons of Hollywood, grandsons Danny Ray Still, Jr. (Katie Jarrard), Eric Simmons, and Austin Still, as well as great grandson Livingston Still.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, December 1, 2017 at Hillside Memorial Chapel.  Rev. Chris York and Rev. Austin Kelley will officiate with interment to follow the service in Habersham Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 30, 2017 from 2-4 PM and from 6-8 PM.
