Mr. Jimmy Milton Cason, age 70 went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, November 21, 2017.
A son of the late Foy Milton and Agnes Biggs Cason, he was born September 23, 1947 in Columbus, Georgia having lived in Eastanollee for the past 21 years. He was self-employed in Commercial and Residential Construction having received a Master’s Degree from Auburn University in Electrical Engineering and Building Construction. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam, Panama and Desert Storm. He loved God, his family, his country and politics. He was a member of St. James United Methodist Church and was a Certified Lay Speaker. He was a member of the V.F. W. Post 4346 and the American Legion. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, David Cason, a sister, Sarah Cason Smythe and a daughter, Rhonda Dale Harrison.
Survivors include his wife of 21 years, Janice (Jan) Craven Cason of the home; daughters, Kristin Massey of Columbus, Georgia and Katrena (Dennis) Brock of Martin, Georgia; grandchildren, Sarah and Clay Massey of Columbus, Georgia, Kenneth Brock of Athens, Georgia, Ellen and Daniel Brock of Martin, Georgia; sister, Nancy (Jerry) Smith of Auburn, Alabama; brother-in-law, Bob (Beth) Smythe of LaGrange, Georgia.
Funeral services will be Friday, November 24, 2017, 3 O’clock p.m. at St. James United Methodist Church with The Reverend Walton McNeal and Mr. Kenneth Brock officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Dan Gasaway, Bill Grant, Rusty Smith, John Wilkinson, Dennis Brock, Ken Andrews and Kenneth Brock.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday, 1 p.m. until the service time at 3 p.m. Online condolences can be made at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to one’s favorite charity in memory of Mr. Jimmy Milton Cason.
Interment will follow in Stephens Memorial Gardens with The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating, with Military Honors at the graveside by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard.
