Christopher "Chris" Ebbs

Christopher "Chris" Ebbs, age 74, of Gainesville, GA, born in Bray County, Wicklow Ireland, died on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at North East Georgia Medical Center with his family and friends at his side.

 In 1964, Chris immigrated to the United States from Ireland, and landed in Boston, Massachusetts. He later moved to New Jersey before his final years in Gainesville, Georgia, where he worked as head of maintenance for the 1st Presbyterian Church Child Development Center until his retirement. 

He loved his neighborhood where he walked his dogs, and got to know his neighbors. He was described by his neighbors as being the "Heart and Soul" of the neighborhood, and known for his kindness, generosity, and humor. His hobbies were enforcing the speed limit, finding and fixing items for others, especially bicycles to donate to The Battered Woman's Center or children in the area. He loved Elvis, Willie Nelson, a good fire and a cold Busch Beer. 

He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John and Anne Ebbs of Bray, Ireland, and daughter, Kristin. He is survived by his daughter ,Tara Ebbs Scroggs, and her husband, Jason, of Kathleen, GA; their children, Lawson and Cooper; son, Brandon Ebbs, and wife Melissa, of Bayville, NJ; their children Kya Jean and Tyler John; son, Ryan Ebbs, and wife, Yen, of Perth, Australia; son, Devin Ebbs, of Kathleen, GA, and many friends near and far. 

A Memorial Service for Chris is scheduled for 3:00 PM Monday, November 20, 2017 at Hillside Chapel Funeral Home in Gainesville, GA.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 PM until service time.
