Glen Franklin Whitmire

 Memorial services are scheduled for Friday, November 17, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home.  Reverend Wayne Hicks will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 12:00 Noon – 2:00 pm, prior to the service, at the funeral home.

  Mr. Whitmire was born January 18, 1935 in Gainesville, Georgia to the late Dee Whitmire and Lois McGee Whitmire.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.  Glenn was a member of New Haven Congregational Holiness Church.  He was an avid golfer and a successful businessman.

   Mr. Whitmire is survived by his wife of 62 years, Joyce Wilson Whitmire, three sons, David (Kathy) Whitmire, Chuck (Donna) Whitmire and Tim Whitmire, daughter, Kim (Preston) Bowen, 7 grandchildren, Jenny W. (Travis) Graham, Katie W. (Adam) Evans, Kyle (Maggie) Whitmire, Whit & Nick Bowen and Tyler and Lake Whitmire, 4 great-grandchildren, Dean and Autumn Evans and Lila and Athena Whitmire.
