Herbert Jackie “Jack” Segars

Mr. Herbert Jackie “Jack” Segars, age 83, of Gillsville, Ga., passed away Sunday, November 12, 2017, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Ga.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2013, at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel with internment at Memorial Park Cemetery.    Danny Osborne, Mike Richardson, and Tim House will officiate the funeral. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m., Monday, November 13, 2017 at the funeral home.

Jackie was born September 14, 1934, and was a native of Hall County. He graduated from Gillsville High School.  Jackie married the love of his life, Mary Alice Jarrett, June 26, 1959. He was a faithful member of Midway Methodist Church in Gillsville. He retired in 1983, after 30 years of service at General Motors.  His great love of his family and church also included his love of gardening, camping, boating, NASCAR and he was known for his yearly tomato crop. He taught numerous young people how to ski throughout the years.  He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Frances Segars, mother, Thelma Poole Segars.

Jackie is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Mary Alice (Jarrett); daughter and son-in-law, Sandi and John Pudenz of Gainesville, son and daughter-in-law Keith and Kathy Segars of Gillsville, son and daughter-in law Doug and Lisa Segars of Mebane, NC; grandchildren, Haley, Zach, Allyson, Chelsea, Abby, Caroline, Hurst, Carson, Larsen, and Lauren; great grandchildren Falyn, Farah, Layla, and River; sister and brother-in-law Joann and Grier Osborne, as well as many nieces and nephews.
