Rebecca Marlene Snelson

Rebecca Marlene Snelson, age 61, passed away on November 10, 2017 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, November 13, 2017 in the Chapel of First Baptist Church, 751 Green St. NW, Gainesville, Georgia 30501. Dr. Bill Coates will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Alta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00-5:00 on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel.

Marlene was born in Andrews, North Carolina on February 8, 1956 to the late Clifford and Ruby Hughes. Marlene worked many years as a registered nurse at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Laurelwood, and Avita Healthcare. She is preceded in death by her parents along with 2 brothers.

Marlene is survived by her husband Hoke Smith Snelson, Jr.; son and daughter-in-law Trey and Mary Beth Snelson; son and fiance’ Michael Langefeld and Brandy Pittman; daughter and son-in-law Sarah and Taylor Clark; 5 grandchildren; 2 sisters; 1 brother.
