Naume Ladowsky Cohen

Naume Ladowsky Cohen passed peacefully on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at her home in Gainesville, Georgia.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Hyman Sidney Cohen.

Naume was born in Brazil, April 1, 1935.  She was an independent lady with a career as an attorney in Brazil.  She spoke four languages.  Naume and Sidney lived in Atlanta during their early marriage and later when Sidney retired from the Federal Government Police they relocated to Demorest.  Even retired she could not stay idle and joined SunTrust Bank.

She was a wonderful caregiver for Sidney as his health declined.  She also enjoyed helping other family members in Brazil with caregiving needs and especially enjoyed cooking.  She will always be remembered for referring to her friends as “Darling” and that was usually followed by a peck on the cheek.

A special thank you for the kindness of Sharon Tinsley and her staff that made it possible for Naume to remain in her home as she desired and the help and assistance of Northeast Georgia Hospice.

Naume requests that if you would like to remember her a donation may be made at St. Judes Childrens Hospital or the Hall County Animal Shelter.
