Floyce Gertrell Merritt

Floyce Gertrell Merritt, 85, of Gainesville passed away on Friday, November 3, 2017.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at Calvary Baptist Church with the Reverend Raymond Latty officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, November 5, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Born on July 5, 1932 in Gainesville, GA she was the daughter of the late John and Gertrell Smith Bryant. Mrs. Merritt was retired from Peachtree Doors. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Roy Merritt and brothers, Jack and Roger Bryant.

“Nanny” was a loving and energetic small bundle of joy. Her faith, hard work and dedication to her children, her grandchildren, her family and her church helped our world be a better place. She will be missed.

Mrs. Merritt is survived by her son and daughter in law, Wayne and Shelba Merritt; son, Terry Merritt; sister and brother in law, Betty and Earl Poole; sister, Hazel Mooney; granddaughters, Emily Roper, Alexis Phillips; grandsons T.J. Merritt, Matt Merritt; 4 great grandsons and a number of other relatives.
