H. M. Cain

It is with heavy heart that the family announces the death of H. M Cain, age 84, of Dahlonega, GA. Following a brief illness, H.M. passed away at Landmark Hospital in Athens, GA on the evening of Monday, October 30.

H.M. is preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Ellen R. Cain; brothers, Edward and T. J. Cain; and sister, Ellen Holbrook. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Frances R. Cain; son, Jim (Angi) Cain; daughter, Angie (Jimmy) Palmer; grandchildren, Jim (Amanda) Palmer, Jon (Anna) Palmer, Matt Cain, Eric (Emily) Timms, and Chelsea (Brian) Hall, and great grandchildren, Jay, Maggie, Jack, Eli, and Davis Palmer; and Taylan, Teegan, Trennen Timms; and Brock, Andi, Cooper, and Deacon Hall.

Born March 11, 1933, H. M. was a lifelong resident of Lumpkin County and a member of Yahoola Baptist Church. He was an automotive business owner over his entire working life at Dahlonega Alignment, Cain’s Machine & Radiator Shop, and Cain’s Auto Parts.  His quiet, steady personality coupled with his dry wit and humor endeared him to all who knew him.  He was frequently sought out by his family, friends and colleagues for advice due to his broad knowledge of all things mechanical.  He took great pride and pleasure in helping others fix things.  Above all, H. M. loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11:30 at Yahoola Baptist Church in Dahlonega, GA. Rev. Chris Butler and Rev.
