Lavenia Hunter Love Metzler, age 92 of Rome, formerly of Sautee Nacoochee, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017.
Mrs. Metzler was born on November 12, 1924, in White County, to the late Herschel and Ethel Sanders Hunter. She was a retired bookkeeper for Syco Food Systems and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church in Rome, GA. Lavenia was preceded in death by her husbands, Jack Love and Don Metzler; and sisters, Merle Sims and Evelyn Teems.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Bonds, Rome, GA; grandchildren, Perry Wigington, Leigh and Art Cyphers, Amanda and Sean Swader; great grandchildren, Theron and Emily Swader, Brock and Satilla Cyphers, Peyton Swader, Gabrielle Cyphers, Britton and Lexi Swader, Keiron Swader, Joey Clementi and Whitney Clementi Watson; great-great grandchildren, Abigail Swader, Annabelle Swader, Ellie Swader and Oliver Swader. Sister and brother in law ,Faye and Wallace Carey of McDonough, GA; a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 3, 2017 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Rodger Whorton will officiate. Interment will follow at Nacoochee United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
