Dr. Paul Cowan Martin

Dr. Paul Cowan Martin, 56, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, October 28.  Born on June 10, 1961 in Miami, Florida to Charles Raymond and Margaret Susan Martin, Paul attended Coral Gables High School where he was a state track champion. 

He attended the University of South Carolina on a football scholarship where he was a member of the Block C Club. He then played professional football for the Montreal Concorde for two seasons.  

After graduating from the University Of South Carolina School Of Medicine, he completed his Radiology Residency at University Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. 

Paul moved his family to Gainesville after practicing in Swainsboro, Georgia and Union, South Carolina. He joined Gainesville Radiology Group and practiced there until his death.  

Paul was the father of Cameron (deceased), Andrew, Mary Katherine and Kristin. He is also survived by his brother Philip and his wife Ellie. Paul was predeceased by his parents.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Memorial Park North Riverside Chapel. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
