Harry James Gober, age 71, of Atlanta, GA passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and L. D. Burnette Gober; aunts, Lucille Gober Greeson, Temperence Gober, Guyera Pruitt, Lula Morgan Gober and Hallie Gober; and uncles, Everett Gober, Willie Gober and Idus Gober. He is survived by his first cousins, Linda Gober Loveless, Lawrenceville, GA and J. E. and Liz Gober, Buford, GA; several other cousins and friends; fiancée, Annie Myrick, Vance, AL; and best friend, Wilson W. White, Snellville, GA. Mr. Gober was born July 17, 1946 in Atlanta, GA. He was a 1964 graduate of Bass High School and a 1968 graduate of Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s Degree.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in the Vietnam War. He was retired from the Department of Treasury, Internal Revenue Service, as a system analyst. He was founder of several small companies. He was a private detective for fifteen years. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery in Buford, GA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, November 4, 2017 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m.
