Frances Ayers

Frances Ayers, age 76, of Lumpkin County passed away Monday, October 23, 2017 following an extended illness.

?She was the daughter of Katie and Norman Bell, and a great artist who loved making a canvas come alive with God's beauty. She sang with the United Gospel Singers for many years, could play the piano, guitar, banjo, and mandolin, and had written many gospel songs.She was a crafter who also loved to sew and crochet, and loved the outdoors and gardening. Frances was a foster parent for many years, and was known as "Mom" and "Granny." She was loved by all and served God faithfully.

?She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jerry Ayers; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Jim McKee; daughters, Connie Ayers, Katie Ayers, and Marcy Ayers; son, Thomas Ayers; granddaughters, Angela Wilson, Jennifer (Jeremy) Phillips; great granddaughter, Cheyanna Phillips; grandson, Kristopher Paitsel; granddaughters, Mary Harkins, Heather (Kenneth) Pairmore; great grandson, Bryson Pairmore; grandson, Lance Paitsel; brothers, Norman Bell, Jr and Douglas Bell; sister, Marlene Gable; brother-in-law, Jimmy Gabel; sisters, Marie McCallister and Alice Watkins; and brother-in-law, Tommy Watkins. A number of other relatives also survive.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1 PM Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Hillside Chapel Funeral Home in Gainesville, GA.

Rev. Amy Reems and Rev. Jeremy Smith will officiate.

Interment will follow in Hillside Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Gainesville.

The family will receive friends at Hillside Chapel Funeral Home in Gainesville from 4 PM until 8 PM on Tuesday, October 24, and from 11 AM until service time on Wednesday, October 25.
