Pauline Cain

Pauline “Penny” Cain, age 95, of Dunwoody, GA passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Forest Cain; parents, Paul and Lavada King Nichols; son-in-law, C. David Hughes; brother, Glynn B. Nichols; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bess and Gordon Burel, Alice and H. L. Adams, Gene Nichols and Dr. C. A. Dozier. She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Glenna C. Hughes, Marietta, GA and Teri and Chris Pridgen, Marietta, GA; grandchildren, T. Hoyt and Dona Hughes, Acworth, GA, D. Michael and Elizabeth Hughes, Woodstock, GA, C. Brenden and Amanda Pridgen, Birmingham, AL, Zachary and Allison Pridgen, Cumming, GA and Matthew Pridgen, Sandy Springs, GA; nine great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Glynora and James Watterson, Covington, GA; brother, Dr. Joseph J. Nichols, Dunwoody, GA; sisters-in-law, Dean Nichols, Dunwoody, GA and Edith Cain Dozier, Brewton, AL; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Cain was born July 29, 1922 in Atlanta, GA. She was a 1940 graduate of Girls High School of Atlanta, a graduate of Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s Degree, and a graduate of the University of Wisconsin with a Master’s Degree. She was a retired bank auditor from Sun Trust Bank. She was a member of the National Association of Banking Women, a member of D.A.R. (Daughter’s of the American Revolution), a member of the Women’s Chamber of Commerce and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Chamblee.
