Rev. Jerry Smith

Rev. Jerry Smith age 76 of Commerce passed away Friday Oct. 20, 2017 at his residence.
 
Rev. Smith was born in Ila on July 26, 1941 to the late William Jewell Smith, Sr. & Lula Merle Smith. Rev. Smith was retired from Southland Life Insurance Company, and a cattle & Poultry farmer. He was the Pastor of New Haven Baptist Church in Commerce. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jack Oswald Smith.
 
Survivors include, wife, Brenda Crumley Smith of Commerce, sons & daughters in law, Chris & April Smith of Athens, John & Erica Smith of Commerce, & Mac & Vicki Smith of Danielsville, daughter & son in law, Kathy & Joe Patterson of Commerce, brother, Freddie Smith of Commerce, sisters, Peggy Minor of Athens & Linda Tolbert of Newnan, 12 grandchildren 7 great grandchildren also survive.
 
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 24, 2017 at the New Haven Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Baker & Rev. Doug Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday night at the funeral home.
