Mitchell “Michael” Lamar Thompson

 Mitchell “Michael” Lamar Thompson, age 53 of Pendergrass, passed away Monday, October 16, 2017 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness. 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 11:00am in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Pastor Richie Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Suches, GA at 2:00pm. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 19, 2017 from 4:00-8:00pm at the funeral home.

Mr. Thompson was born on July 20, 1964 in Gainesville, Georgia to Jimmy David Thomason and Geneva Harris Spencer. He was a mechanic and a painter. Mr. Thompson was a member of Victory Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his father.

                Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Francisca Thompson of Pendergrass; mother, Geneva Spence of Dahlonega; daughter and son-in-law, Ashley Thomason and Shannon Jackson of Pendergrass; daughter, Tasha Thomason of Cleveland; daughter and son-in-law, Brittany Thomason and Quest Loggins of Gainesville; sons, Richard Nix and Kristoff Nix; 5 grandchildren; brother, Randall Thomason of Dahlonega; sister, Beverly Thomason of Dahlonega; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Felicitas and Bruce Rice of Gainesville.
