Mrs. Emily Ann Meeks Cash, age 81 of Toccoa passed away Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at the Bee Hive Assisted Living Facility.
A daughter of the late Jess J. and Minnie Lee Collins Meeks, she was born December 2, 1935 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived all her life. She was a graduate of Toccoa High School and attended Toccoa Falls College. She was employed with Franklin Discount, Dr. Elton Copeland and Musician for Acree-Davis Funeral Home since the age of 13. She traveled the Western United States as pianist with the Klaudt Indian Family Singers. She and her husband Maurice were married in 1956. She was a member of the Lamar Christian Church where she served as the Organist and Sunday School Teacher. She was active in civic and professional organizations, a vital part of Credit Women International and served as President of Georgia Credit Women International. She was nominated in 2015 as Toccoa Woman of the Year. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Cash in 2014, son, Michael Cash, daughter, Linda Cash, sister, Jeanelle Medlin and brother, Carl Meeks.
Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Doug and Pat Meeks of Tucker, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Pat Cash of Toccoa; grandsons, Mickey (Becky) Cash and Trent (Kellie) Cash both of Toccoa; great-grandchildren, Dylan Cash, Colter Cash, Ava Cash and Jackson Cash; niece, Marilyn Norris; four nephews, Sam Meeks, Jim Meeks, Paul Meeks and Andy Meeks; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Vernon and Annelle Cash of Toccoa.
Funeral services will be Friday, October 20, 2017, 11 O’clock a.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Chad Holcomb and The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Sam Meeks, Matt Sharpe, Tim Ord, Kenneth Cash, Steve Cash and Greg Savage. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry White and Jared Meeks.
The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday, October 19, 2017, 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Interment will follow in the Lamar Christian Church Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Emily Meeks Cash.
