Wanda Headrick came into this world on September 10, 1931 as Wanda Chadwick. She grew up in Oklahoma and, on August 21, 1955, she married the love of her life Keith Headrick. Together they embarked on the greatest adventure a couple can share in this life time, creating and raising a family.
Keith and Wanda had four children, Robyn, Lisa, Philip and Allison. They spent their lives together raising their children to love the Lord and their family. Keith, sang in the choir, and Wanda, played the church organ, and were always active in their church. Together, they taught and showed their children that, through our Lord and savior, Jesus, they could be with him and their family could be together forever.
While it is easily said that Wanda loved God, she also loved her family just as much. Smiles and laughter came easily to her whenever she was with her children and grandchildren. She was always there to provide support and comfort to her family and loved being with them whenever she could. Wanda not only loved her children, she loved all children; dedicating over 30 years of her life to teaching elementary children, she shared her love with many children.
It is said that “Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see” and while Wanda has left us to be with our Lord, she can still be clearly seen in her surviving children, Robyn and Allison, and grandchildren, Valerie, Ryan, Peter, Shalanda, Promise, and Stevie, and her great grandchild, Carter. Their love for God and their families is most definitely Wanda.
We will miss Wanda but we need look no farther than her daughters to see her stubborn love for God and family and know that we will again be with her.
