Eva Mae Griffin

Mrs. Eva Mae Griffin, age 92 of Gainesville, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at The Oaks of Limestone following an extended illness.

Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 3:30 pm in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.  Reverend Bradley Elliott, Reverend Darryl Womack and Reverend Clack Stubbs will officiate.  The family will receive friends on Monday, October 9, 2017 from 6 – 8 pm at the funeral home.

Mrs. Griffin was born January 5, 1925 in Helen, Georgia to the late Sam Canup and Lou Emma Harrison Canup.  She was retired from Eastman Kodak and was a member of New Holland Baptist Church.  Eva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Davis William Griffin, her sisters, Lera Miller and Margaret Deaton, her brother, Curtis Canup and great-grandson, Torrie Freedeau.

Mrs. Griffin is survived by her daughter & son-in-law, Andrea & John Harrison of Gainesville, grandson & wife, Ryan & Cindy Harrison of Mississippi, granddaughter & her husband, Tina & Adam Hansard of Dawsonville, 4 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, sister, Betty Sue Smith of Clermont and brother & sister-in-law, Dr. C. Neal “Buddy” & Phyllis Canup of Alabama.
