Josephine Sutton

Josephine Sutton, age 83 of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 at her residence.

Josephine was born April 15, 1934 in Cleveland to the late Fletcher and Dorothy Abernathy Magness. She worked 21 years at Ames Textile and retired from Warren Feather Bone. Mrs. Sutton was of the Holiness Faith and was a strong child of God. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Junior Sutton, sons, Wayne Sutton and Terry Sutton; brothers, Donald Magness, Robert Magness, Carlous Magness, Harold Magness, Jerry Magness and Ricky Magness; sisters, Martha Owens and Ruthlene Savage; son-in-law, Don Robinson; brothers-in-law, Rev. Jr. Savage, Ralph Grizzle; sister-in-law, Bonnie Tripp.

She loved life to the fullest and loved everybody. She will be missed deeply.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, David and Gail Sutton, Gainesville; daughter, Elain Sutton, Cleveland; daughters and sons-in-law, Carol Sutton and Jeff Irvin, Cleveland; Debbie and Paul Davis, Cleveland; daughters-in-law, Mildred Sutton, Dahlonega; Marsha Sutton, Danielsville; Linda Sutton, Cleveland; brother and sister-in-law, Gravice and Carol Magness, S.C.; special grandson and wife, Nathan and Kellie Shewbert and their son, Bryson; grandchildren, Jason Sutton, Joseph and Jessica Sutton, Jake and Tabby Robinson, Amber and Thomas Donaldson, Katie Davis, Matthew Davis, Sonney and Michael Lewallen; numerous great grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Ann Magness, Alto; Carol Magness, Cleveland; Glinda Magness, Lula; Margaret Magness Marchbank, Dahlonega; brother-in-law, Doug Ownes, Alto; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Harold and Sherry Sutton, Cleveland; J.L. and Hazel Sutton, Clevleland; Ervin and Charlotte Sutton, Cleveland; Bertice Grizzle, Cleveland; Barbara Blackwell Cleveland.

Funeral services are scheduled for 4:00 PM Monday, October 9, 2017 at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Gary Heffner and the Rev. Chris Anderson will officiate. Interment will follow at Gateway Memory Park.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
