Elizabeth Jane Bennett Whiteside

Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Bennett Whiteside, 73, of Gainesville passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born on November 19, 1943 in Buford, GA she was the daughter of the late Luther Tweed and Elizabeth Thomas Bennett. She was a retired school teacher from the City of Gainesville School System where she taught for 30 plus years. She never lost her love of teaching and learning. She was loved by all for her kindness and generosity.  She was a member of Coal Mountain Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Whiteside is preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Whiteside; brothers, Luther Thomas Bennett, Jimmy Mack Bennett, William Roger Bennett; brother in law, Emory Martin.

A beloved sister and aunt, Mrs. Whiteside is survived by her sister, Ruth Martin of Cumming; sister and brother in law, Anne and Gary Preston of Cumming; nieces and their husbands, Heidi and Witt Beckman, Tonya and Kelly Whitmire, Laurie and Jack Bradley; nephews and their wives, Bryan Martin, Andy and Bonnie Martin, Heath and Keri Bennett, John Preston and a host of great nieces and nephews.
