Sherry Howington Franklin, age 61, of Cornelia passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 1, 2017.
Born in Chattanooga, Tennessee on June 13, 1956, Mrs. Franklin was the daughter of the late Jesse and Emily Rowell Howington. Of the Methodist faith, Sherry was an insurance broker and the owner of Sherry Franklin & Associates. She enjoyed camping and reading, gardening and shopping. Sherry had an infectious smile. She liked to keep up with friends, trends and the news through Facebook, Pinterest, and Fox News talk radio. Her grandson Kip was the apple of her eye. On their most recent family vacation, Sherry got to hear Kip call her “grandmom” for the first time.
Survivors include her husband Jerry Franklin of Cornelia, sons and daughters in law Corey and Jill Williams Franklin of Cornelia, Clayton and Allyson Waters Franklin of Cornelia, brothers and sisters in law Ricky and Benji Howington of Boerne, Texas, Tracy and Dawn Howington of Clarkesville, brother Shane Howington of Martin, sister Frieda Howington Odum of Mt. Airy, as well as grandson Kip Franklin, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Hillside Memorial Chapel. Pastor Marc Turner will officiate with interment to follow the service in Hillside Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 1-4 PM and from 6-9 PM.
