Lee Allen Carpenter

Obituary Date: Thursday, September 28, 2017

 Lee Allen Carpenter, age 73 of Gainesville, passed away Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Northeast Georgia Braselton following a sudden illness.

            Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Darryl Womack, Rev. Ronnie H. Alligood and Ms. Ruthie Gail Lyle officiating. Mr. Carpenter will lie in state from 1:30-2:00pm at the church. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 30, 2017 from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home.

            Mr. Carpenter was born on August 1, 1944 in Quincy, Florida to Lee Carpenter and Lois Irene Lewis Carpenter. He served in the United States Army and was a member of Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church. Mr. Carpenter owned and operated LCC Distributors where he retired from. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert Carpenter, Ronnie Carpenter and Richard Carpenter.

            Mr. Carpenter is survived by his loving wife of 48 ½ years, Connie Carpenter of Gainesville; daughter, Dee Carpenter of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Carmie Lesley Wiley and Jason Wiley of Gainesville; grandson and best bud, Dalton Lee Wiley of Gainesville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald Carpenter (Linda) of Lake Park, GA; Roger Carpenter (Lisa) of Hahira, GA; sister, Martha Ann Hay of Douglasville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda Cloyd (John) of Albany, Teresa Carpenter of Valdosta, Cheryl Moore (Tony) of Valdosta, Debbie Avant (Frank) of Albany, Cindy Adams (Kenny) of Valdosta; brother in law and sister in law, Ronnie H. Alligood (Janet) of Adel; sister in law, Shirley Carpenter of Preston; sister in law and brother in law; Claudia Lieupo (Ronnie) of Homerville; brothers in law and sisters in law, Roger Becton (Teresa) of Valdosta, Randy Becton (Gina) of Quitman special friend, Ruthie Gail Lyle of Tallahassee, FL and a number of  nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church Mission Fund 1210 West Ridge Rd. Gainesville, GA. 30501
