Sherman Lee Patrum, age 82 of Cornelia, Georgia passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2017.
Born in Paris, Tennessee on June 22, 1935, he was a son of the late Archie Lee Patrum & Evia Lena Byrd Patrum. Mr. Patrum served his country proudly in the United States Army and worked in the construction industry for many years. He enjoyed gardening, especially growing sunflowers, any type of carpentry work, researching genealogy, and a good chocolate Wendy’s Frosty. Most of all, Mr. Patrum enjoyed spending precious time with his loving family. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Anna Lena Patrum, eight siblings, and one great-grandchild.
Survivors include his loving wife of 62 years, Anna Shirley Patrum of Cornelia, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Sherman Archie & Carla Patrum, Joel Clifford & Donna Patrum all of Mt. Airy, GA; daughters & sons-in-law, Vicky & Michael Ledford of Clarkesville, GA; Martha & Hardy Stuckey, Angela & Steve Cooper all of Cornelia, GA; sister & brother-in-law, Ruby Lee Patrum Barnhill & Frank Barnhill of Paris, TN; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, & friends.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2017 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with Bishop Clay Thomas & Bro. Carroll Jeffers officiating. Interment will follow in the Clarkesville City Cemetery with military honors provided by the Grant Reeves VFW Post # 7720, American Legion Post # 84, and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #15.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 3 p.m. on Monday, September 25, 2017.
