Martha Lee Folger

Mrs. Martha Lee Folger, age 75, of Dahlonega, formerly of Gainesville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Chelsey Park Health and rehab following an extended illness.

Born on May 20, 1942 in Dahlonega, Georgia to parents Raleigh and Estelle King Lee, Martha had lived most of her life in Gainesville. She was an avid cook and baker having owned and operated Martha’s Tea Room in Dahlonega from 1982 until 1990. She served as a volunteer at the Senior Center in Gainesville and was a member of the Red Hat Society of Gainesville. She was a member of Dahlonega Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Walter A. Folger. She is survived by her children ; Charles (Cindy) Folger, Augusta, Michael (Tammy) Folger, Gainesville, Susan (Joe) Jarrard, Marietta, GA., Rosemary  (Chad) Wellborn, Gainesville, sister; Wilma West, Dahlonega.  Grandchildren Charles Folger Jr., Thomas Folger, Shelby Folger, Paul (Kelsey) Folger, Ben Jarrard, Will Jarrard, Joseph Jarrard, Brooke Peck, Coleman Peck, Carder Peck, Grace Wellborn; and great grandchild Easton Folger.

Funeral Service will be Thursday September 21st, 2017 11am in the chapel of Dahlonega Funeral Home.  Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5pm to 9pm. Burial will follow service at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Dahlonega.
