Eugene Gilstrap

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Master Sgt. (Retired) Eugene Gilstrap, age 76 of Madison, Georgia entered into rest Tuesday, September 19, 2017.  Mr. Gilstrap was born in Morgan County, Georgia a son of the late Ollie and Inez Gilstrap, was of the Baptist Faith and was a Retired Master Sergeant from the U.S. Air Force having served in Vietnam.  Mr. Gilstrap liked to collect Snapper Lawn Mowers and later owned a Small Engine Repair Shop.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Gilstrap is preceded by brothers Homer and Hershel Gilstrap and a sister, Louise Cooper.

Survivors include a brother, Charles Gilstrap of Cleveland, Georgia.  Nieces Sallie Smith and her husband Stan of Murrayville, and Lisa Phillips and her husband Todd of Flowery Branch.  Special friends Van and Rose Duncan, sister in law, Sue Gilstrap, several other nieces and nephews and family members.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from the Chapel of Evans Funeral Home with burial to follow with full Military Honors in Evans Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends 12:00 – 2:00 P.M. prior to the service.
