Ernestine "Tina" Tankersley

Mrs. Ernestine, “Tina” Tankersley, 98, of Homer, Georgia passed away September 18, 2017 following an extended illness.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 20, 2017 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Reverend Charles Crabb officiating.  Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 19th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Born on April 9, 1919 in Gainesville, she was the daughter of the late John Garner and Emma Owen Vickers. Mrs. Tankersley retired from the decorating industry. She was a member of Homer Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Tankersley is preceded in death by her husband, Peter Tankersley; grandsons, Gregory and Kenneth Forrester; sisters, Florine Clark and Peggy Howard.

Mrs. Tankersley is survived by her daughter and son in law, Penni and Gary Forrester of Lula, brother, James Vickers of Flowery Branch and a number of other relatives and friends.
