Mary Goss Allen was born in Hart County on August 2, 1931 to the late George Goss and Ina Gaines Goss. She departed this life on September 13, 2017 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rev. W. R. Allen, sons Roy E. Allen and William Humphrey, her mother, father and step father Hubert Winters.
She joined Cedar Springs Baptist Church at an early age. She later joined Antioch Baptist Church. Her past time was crocheting.
Mrs. Allen is survived by her children Shirley Allen of Atlanta, GA; Mamie (Ray) Watson of Oakwood, GA; Lena (Willie) Maxwell of Lavonia, GA; Robbie (Jewel) Reid of Washington DC; Larry (Janice) Allen of La vergne, Tennessee; Tyrone (Maria) Humphrey of Baldwin, GA; daughter-in-law’s: Priscilla Allen and Laura Humphry of Hartwell, GA; nineteen grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Antioch Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 17, 2017 at Antioch Baptist Church between the hours of 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Professional Services Entrusted to Wimberly & Jackson Funeral Home.
