Myrt W. Williams

Mrs. Myrt W. Williams, age 89, of Flowery Branch passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Lanier Lodge Assisted Living, surrounded by her family.

Graveside Services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Memorial Park South Cemetery.  Rev. Sam Parson will officiate.  The family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Memorial Park South Funeral Home.

Mrs. Williams was born November 25, 1927 to the late John Richard & Retha Maybelle Walker in Tampa, Florida.  She was a member of Blackshear Place Baptist Church, where she taught 5^th grade Sunday School for over 20 years and was retired from Briarlake Baptist Church in Decatur, where she was the Church Secretary.  Mrs. Williams had a big heart and great love for children and her family.

Mrs. Williams is surved by her son & daughter-in-law, Rick & Shawn Williams of Homer; daughter, Sandy Hammer of Flowery Branch; daughter & son-in-law, Kathy & Reggie Smith of Braselton; grandchildren, Steve Smith, Stephanie Savage and Ashley Hammer; great-grandchildren, Jake Savage and Alex Savage; sister, Johnnie Mones of Tampa, Florida; and several nieces & nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Richard Hugh Williams, Jr.; parents; and sister, Elizabeth Parnell.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital
