Mary Elizabeth Pruitt, age 84 of Homer, GA passed away Thursday, September 7, 2017.
Born on Oct. 8, 1932 in Carnesville, GA, Mrs. Pruitt was the daughter of the late Arthur A. and Icie Chattam Wood. She was the widow of Quinton Cecil Pruitt, a retired seamstress with Blue Bell, member of Nails Creek Baptist Church where she was a choir member and former choir leader, and is preceded in death by a sister, Elnora Lord.
Survivors include son, David Pruitt, Homer; daughter and son-in-law, Dale and Terry Powell, Homer; brothers, Kenneth Wood, Mauldin, SC, Dan Wood, Martin, GA, Milton Wood, Mauldin, SC; sisters, Betty Akins, Carnesville, Barbara Taylor, Mauldin, SC, Rhonda Wheeler, Toccoa; 2 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held 2 pm Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Nails Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Duane Eller officiating. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
