Lillian Hencely, age 95, passed away Monday, September 4, 2017.
She was born on July 16, 1922 in Monroe County, Georgia to the late Simeon B. Knight and Minnie Malcomb Knight. She had been a faithful member of Bethlehem Baptist Church since 1945 where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She also served as state President of The Homemakers’ Club.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Z. Hencely.
She is survived by her daughter, Ellen Hencely Davis of Flowery Branch; two sons, Warren Hencely (Becky) of Mt. Airy, and Steve Hencely (Jan) of Clarkesville; brother, Marlin Knight of Madison; sister, Judy Knight Morris of Phenix City, Alabama; five grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P.M. Tuesday at Hillside.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Reverend Tommy Stowe will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Dr. Craig Ward officiating.
