Lucille Smith Grant, 88, of Gainesville, Georgia passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at her residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2017 at Timber Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Poole, Rev. Charles Grant and Rev. Wesley Purcell officiating Interment will follow in Timber Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday September 4, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Grant will lie in state at the church from 1:30 until the service hour.
Born on September 10, 1928 in Hall County, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Bell Turpin Smith. She was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family and her home. She was very faithful in helping her husband in their line of work. Mrs. Grant was a member of Timber Ridge Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Grant is preceded in death by her sons, Lewis Edward Standridge, Otho Roger Standridge; sisters, Gussie Ivey, Mary Turner; brothers, Ira Smith, Frank Junior Smith, Charlie Smith and Hubert Smith.
Mrs. Grant is survived by her husband, Hank Grant of Gainesville; daughter, Margie June Standridge Greene of Nashville, TN; sons, Robert Standridge (retired from Gainesville Fire Department) and his wife Debbie of Gainesville, Bobby Standridge and his wife Angie of Gainesville, Ricky Standridge and his wife Phylliss of Gainesville, Chad Grant and wife Soraida of Demorest; daughter in law, Brenda Standridge of Gainesville; grandchildren, Stephanie McConnell, Heath Wingo, Shane Standridge, Eric Standridge, Josh Rhodes, Ashley Standridge, Abby Rhodes; sisters, Rilla Cothran and her husband Lonnie of Lavonia, Brenda McDonald Masters of Gainesville; brothers, Paul Smith and his wife Irene of Gainesville, David Smith of Alto and a number of nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren other relatives and friends.
