Charles C. Clifton

Charles C. Clifton, age 85, of Nicholson died Friday, September 1, 2017 at Kindred Hospice at Piedmont Athens Regional.  Mr. Clifton was born in Decatur, AL to the late, William Henry and Vadie Irene Busby Clifton.  Mr. Clifton was retired from the US Navy where he served 28 years, he was a member of the VFW and the American Legion.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Clifton was also preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Dean.

Mr. Clifton is survived by his wife, Myrtice Smith Clifton of Nicholson; sons, Keith Dean of Nicholson and Kevin Dean of Commerce; brother, Bobby Clifton of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; sister, Thelma Blackburn of Decatur, AL; three grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.      

Graveside service will be held Sunday, Sept. 3^rd at 3:00 PM from Howington Cemetery with Dr. David Bowen officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 1-2:30 PM.
