E. Eugene Higgins

E. Eugene Higgins, 85, of Dawsonville passed away Monday August 28, 2017 at his residence.

Born September 2, 1931 to the late Roscoe and Beulah Higgins, he had been a resident of Dawsonville for most of his life.  Mr. Higgins was a retired sawmill worker and a member of Amicalola Baptist Church.  He is also preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Irene Higgins; sister, Emma Higgins; and brothers, Cecil Higgins, Lee Higgins, Clifford Higgins, R.H. Higgins.

Surviving are his son and daughter in law, Wayne and Kathy Higgins, Dawsonville; brother, Junior Higgins, Dawsonville; other relatives.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday August 31, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel.  Rev. Sylvester Ridings will officiate.  Interment will follow in the Yellow Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday August 30 from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service hour.
