Dean J. Couch, 90, of Dawsonville passed away Monday August 28, 2017 at his residence following a period of declining health.
Born May 27, 1927 in Dawson County to the late Henry Grady and Texie Cordelia Couch, he lived several years in Hall County before returning to Dawson County in the 1940’s. Mr. Couch was a retired residential carpenter and formerly operated Chestatee Grocery and Carting Center. Dean enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. A member of Harmony Baptist Church, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Claudine Ledford, Lorene Underwood, and Juanita Garrett.
Surviving are his wife of almost 70 years, Carmen E. “Pat” Couch, Dawsonville; daughters and sons in law, Deborah Stowers, Dawsonville, Jennie and Jimmy Wilson, Dawsonville, Pam and Mike Henson, Dawsonville, Kay and Tony Wiley, Dawsonville, Dawn and Phil Moore, Cumming; sister, Mary Carnes, Lula; 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Thursday August 31, 2017 at 11 o’clock at Harmony Baptist Church. Rev. Tony Holtzclaw and Rev. Sam Morris will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 3 until 8 at the funeral home.
